Many people when choosing a city where they will purchase their home do so because of its proximity to work. Lets face it with the traffic we contend with everyday, doing what you can to cut down on drive time is definitely a consideration.
But should commute time, be your only consideration? If you have children, what about the school district? What is it rated? Where do you even find out such information? Do you just want to concern yourself with school districts and drive times? What happens when you are not working, or the kids are not in school?

Restaurants ; how many are there, do they have a variety of cuisine choices.
Entertainment; do they have something that would appeal to singles, married couples, couples with children
Infrastructure; does the city pay attention to the condition of the streets, are traffic signals placed in the proper areas, are there parks to stroll in
A resident should take pride in their community, become involved in that community. This is your home, be a part of it, make a difference.
Almost all cities have a website which will have links to important departments to file for permits, and such. They also have links for organizations to become involved in. The websites will announce community activities offered by the city for it's residents. Take full advantage of whatever your city has to offer you!!
